Touch Scape

Interactive Projection Mapping

Touch Scape is an interactive installation that responds to the depth of physical touch on a fabric surface. By pressing into the textile, users influence the projected visuals in real time. Depending on the depth of the press, various parameters such as color, size, brightness, or movement of the visuals change dynamically.

Developed as part of a collaboration between our team of "Interaction Design" students, "MO:YA Media – Studio for Applied Design and Media Art" and the Spring Festival 2024, we illuminated the new club venue "DETROIT", creating an immersive experience both inside and outside at the Helmut-List-Halle Graz.

Tech

The system is built using an Arduino with ultrasonic sensors to detect depth variations, while Resolume Arena is used for projection mapping and visual effects. Each team member designed a unique interactive visual composition, allowing for diverse and engaging interactions.
